Building projects in openCV 2.0

opencv-logo

As the new release of openCV version 2.0, the projects which were published in this site may generate many issues while trying to build the code in a project. To address this type of issue, please check the version of openCV, as this may be a easy problem if the version triggers issues.

This is a quick reminder that noticing the openCV version while compiling the codes, hope this helps.

More information about the differences between version 1.2 and 2.0, i suggest the openCVWiki and another site openCV Reference.

there are some c++ based projects relating to hand gesture recognition, but in Java and android platform, i am afraid currently i am short of such source codes and experiences to share.

        Thanks for your reply.
i researched openCV alot and found that there is a opencv version for opencv also there is javaCV which claims to be working on android. I later thought that i should first start with recognition of hand gesture with javaCV first. can you brief me with this

    hello..
i’m using the open cv 2.1 with microsoft visual studio 2008.
regarding the “configure your project” intruction in the “http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/VisualC%2B%2B_VS2008″ , step 2 requires me to “Open Linker Input properties: Configuration Properties > Linker > Input” , but i can’t find the “Configuration Properties” option in the visual studio.
i’ve tried looking on the net for help but cannot find the solution.
by the way, i’m trying to execute your hand recognition program as a reference for my final year project.
and can you give me the instruction on how to put all the necessary files form your code in http://db.tt/MukGcwB

You can find the ‘configuration properties’ by clicking right mouse on your project, then follow the path of : linker->input and so on.

If you are not very clear with how to setup opencv proect in VS, you are strongly advised to start from simple examples, which can be found many in the web.

      Cheers

  3. Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Spending some time
and actual effort to produce a good article… but what
can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and don’t manage to get nearly anything done.
